Kensington 72116 PocketMouse Pro USB Mouse (PC/Mac) Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this mouse about a year ago and LOVE it.The idea of the retractable cord is genius.I can slip this mouse into my laptop case very easily and just use it on the go.I can even slip it in my pocket with no worries that it might break.The scroll wheel in between the buttons also functions great.Scrolling up and down is really easy with this and it's not too sensitive to make it annoying.

There is a button on the left side of the mouse to open the door where you retract the cord into.You then pull the cord out one click and it slides in most easily.The last thing I like about this mouse is how well the optical sensor is to everything.You can even use this mouse on flawless white paper and you get perfect traction.This is a good investment and will last you a long time.Even when the Synopsis Touchpad on my laptop was down, just plug it in and it works great.

NOTE:I recommend this to anyone, but mostly to laptop owners.The reason being is that the cord is only approx. 3' in length, so it might be hard to reach the back of the desktop, but you can always plug it into "plug and play" or buy an extension.

One drawback, if you pull on the cord of this mouse, the computer (or maybe it's just mine!) thinks you unplugged it and plugged it back in, so it takes a few seconds to initialize again.All in all, great, and for sure recommended!

UPDATE: It's now 12/30/2004, and the mouse is doing great! No problems whatsoever. This is one of the most durable computer mice I've ever had, highly recommended, even a year after this review was written.

Classic Track Ball Review

(More customer reviews)This is a hard-to-find trackball controller that gives an arcade feel to old-school games such as Missile Command, Centipede, Crystal Castles, and Marble Madness. The trackball gives you much more precision than a hand controller with the aforementioned games. The trackball itself is solid plastic and rolls smoothly in all directions. There are buttons on either side oe the trackball for left or right-handed play, and also a turbo switch on top in case you want rapid fire. Overall I am very pleased with this controller and would recommend it highly.

Labtec 911524-0403 Wheel Mouse with Light Review

I bought this mouse about a year ago and its starting to give problems. If you want a mouse with a year durability, this might be your choice. Try searching for other mice out there.

Logitech WingMan Strike Force 3D (USB) Review

(More customer reviews)Sorry Logitech, I love your keyboard, but your joystick leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
I picked up the stick to do a little flying in Battlefield 1942 (BF).Now, given that BF could use a little more spit and polish in the joystick support department, the WingMan Strike Force 3D didn't meet my expectations.
It installed quickly and easily, no problems there.When I finally got around to the calibration phase, the stick seemed a bit loose and would pull to the left.I thought I could compensate by trying to calibrate so it would read the pull as the center, right?Wrong.Once I fired up BF, I was constantly having to compensate by pulling the stick to the right, which would throw off my ability to turn right (imagine flying a two engine plane with one engine out).
Needless to say, it's going back to the store tomorrow morning.I'll opt for a non-force feedback system for now (alot of the BF players have been complaining about not getting their Force Feedback sticks to work).I've heard good things about Microsoft's Precision Pro (non-Force Feedback), and even Logitech's WingMan Extreme 3D (non-Force Feedback).Until I can sock away [$$$] for the Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar, I'll keep trying to find a moderately priced stick that works well (I don't think that's too much to ask).
I suppose I should also note, that when I was out looking at sticks earlier in the day, I noticed that a few of the WingMan's rubber boots around the stick and the base were starting to crack.
Oh, one last thing, at the time of my writing this ..., Amazon has the wrong WingMan pictured.The Strike Force 3D has a wheel (similar to your mouse's wheel) off to the left side, with a button on both sides.

(More customer reviews)This is a nice wired notebook mouse.It's USB cable is a little on the short side, but I have a nice ammount of free play with the mouse cable.It is plugged into a rear USB port on my 15.4" Widescreen Toshiba A105.I wouldn't use this on my desktop PC, and find that the mouse is a bit on the small size (good for portability), but I wish it were a tad bit bigger.A friend that used my computer thought that it wasn't small enough.So that's a matter of prefrence.
Setpoint software was not included with the packaging, so I had to download the latest drivers and setpoint program.Microsoft standard drivers do not give you the "full functionability" of the mouse.No middle click to zoom and no tilt side scrolling.
